Year 11 & 12 Residential Summer Schools

HEON is pleased to present our Residential Summer Schools for students in Year 11 and Year 12 - offering students the chance to experience university life and explore the variety of options available to them at 16 and 18. This event is ideal for anyone considering Higher Education (perhaps university or an apprenticeship) or who is unsure about their future.

About our residential

Exciting subject tasters - You will experience a range of practical sessions designed to expose you to interesting areas that you could study.

Fun social evening activities - During the evenings you will be able to take part in social activities such as bowling and playing games, and eat at local restaurants to have fun and experience the social side of university.

Impartial information, advice and guidance - You'll also be able to get impartial information about the range of options available to you including apprenticeships, university, and alternatives to Higher Education to gain practical and useful knowledge during your stay

What do you need to know?

Date: Monday 25th June –  Thursday 28th June 2018 

Location: The University of Surrey, Guildford. You will be provided with your own ensuite room in real university accommodation for the duration of the summer school.

Cost: The residential summer school is entirely free of charge, including reimbursement for your travel costs, and all meals and activities are provided.

Who is eligible?

The Higher Education Outreach Network is funded to work with students who reside in areas that have a lower rate of progression to Higher Education than is expected. Eligibility will be determined by the student's postcode.

When can I apply?

Applications will open in Autumn 2017 and close in Spring 2018. We will contact you to let you know if you have been successful. Places are limited.
