SUPPORTING ARMED FORCES
YOUNG PEOPLE TO THRIVE IN
POST-16 EDUCATION

HEON partnered with Uni Connect partnerships from across the country and the Service Children’s Progression Alliance (SCiP) to extend our previous collaborative work on expanding The Thriving Lives Toolkit to the 16-19 education phase, where there to date is very little research, data and even dedicated support available. This has produced a report “Diversity meets complexity: Supporting Armed Forces young people to thrive in post-16 education” which will form the basis of extending the schools toolkit to the 16-19 context.

The report was produced by the Centre for Education & Youth (CFEY) and finds key barriers for this group, including funding & financial pressures, data & identification, and understanding and support available.
